In maths today the children used pictorial methods to show number bonds to 10!

In our RE lesson today we heard the story of The Loaves and Fishes. The children worked together to sequence the story to retell it.

To celebrate National Storytelling Week Year 1 had a lovely morning at the library meeting the Author Jennifer Doyle and listening to the story of Billy the Blackbird. The children also had the opportunity to buy a signed copy of the book.

In our computing lessons we have been learning how to navigate a bee bot. The children have been designing their own bee bot mat and working in pairs to direct their partner around it.

Today in our Art lesson we made the most of the dry weather and sunshine. We went outside to explore the different textures on the playground to mark wax rubbings for our collage paper lesson.

Here are some lovely examples of our English work this week. We have been reading and answering questions about the story The Way Back Home by Oliver Jeffers.

In our Music lessons we are learning about The Beatles. We have been learning about the song Love Me Do. Here we are identify the instruments we can hear in the song.

Our Listen and Appraise Unit for this term is The Beatles song Love Me Do.
The children have been exploring facts about the Beatles.

Today in Maths we wrote number sentences using a part whole model. The children explored numbers to 10 to make number sentences.

Today in our maths lesson we have been investigating part while models – the children used practical resources to create part whole models and talked about them.
